Steve Mayer has 35 years of professional experience working with individuals, public and private businesses. His experience involves every side of SD Mayer & Associates’ practice areas, such as accounting, tax, consulting, auditing, wealth management and more. His services include audits and reviews of financial statements, implementation of computer and accounting systems, preparation of forecasts and budgets, litigation support, bankruptcy consultation, valuations, and business plan and loan package development. In addition, he has consulted with management concerning SEC requirements, mergers, reorganization and acquisition of businesses, and negotiation of venture capital financing.
Chris Cardwell joined SD Mayer & Associates, LLP in 2016. Her experience includes over ten years as an audit partner with PMB Helin Donovan, five years with BDO Seidman in Spokane, Washington, and ten years with a local firm that specialized in publicly traded companies.
Chris has significant experience in the audit of small to medium sized public companies, both domestic and foreign. Her industry specialties are in biotech, internet sales, software development, manufacturing and distribution, and extraction and renewable energy industries. Chris has been a CPA since 1998.
Rick Hillsbery has 10 years of experience in tax and financial planning working with high net worth individuals and families. Rick is passionate about doing the best that he can do to help clients reach their financial goals by optimizing resources through integrating tax know-how with financial planning and low-cost, tax-efficient investment strategies. Rick enjoys helping clients with charitable intent to maximize giving through income, gift and estate tax planning. He has also served as a principal in an Enrolled Agent tax preparation practice. Prior to entering the accounting field, Rick served in the software industry for over 20 years completing that career leading a Performance Services group
Noel McNabola joined SD Mayer & Associates, LLP in San Francisco, California in 2016. Previously he was one of the senior partners of PMB Helin Donovan, LLP and has over thirty years of significant not-for-profit audit and taxation experience, including a period with the international accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers) in San Francisco.
He earned a Masters in Taxation from Golden Gate University and served as the Vice Chairman of Blood Centers of the Pacific in San Francisco until December 31, 2015. He is the immediate past Chairman of the Non-Profit Committee of the San Francisco chapter of the California Society of CPAs and a member of the San Francisco Estate Planning Council.
