Tax Senior

Who We’re Looking For:

SD Mayer & Associates is a full service accounting firm located in the Financial District of San Francisco. The firm’s comprehensive services include tax preparation, assurance services, outsourced accounting, wealth management, employee retirement planning, and business consulting. The firm is looking for a Tax Senior with a few years of experience to prepare and review state and federal returns.

Some of the Things You’d Be Responsible For:

Client Management:

• Prepare and review complex income tax returns including consolidated and multi-state tax returns
• Initiate communications with and respond to taxing authorities in tax controversy matters
• Develop relationships with client personnel responsible for tax issues
• Manage competing priority deliverables and communicate accordingly to deliver excellent client service

Engagement Management:

• Communicate both internally and externally to manage expectations and keep the engagement progressing
• Develop and motivate engagement staff by providing technical assistance as needed
• Foster teamwork and innovation to enhance the client service experience
• Work with staff tax associates, including review and mentorship

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (or equivalent)
• 3-5 years of experience in tax and public accounting (business and individual returns)
• Demonstrated experience in accrual and cash methods of accounting

Desired Qualifications:

• CPA license
• Broad tax return experience across multiple industries, including experience with high net worth clients
• Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations Technology Skills
• CCH (preferred) or other tax processing systems
• Quickbooks/QBO
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Adobe Acrobat
